1. I don't remember the last time I woke up early in the morning to go trekking. There was hardly any motivation to do that... Until I didn't feel so well lately that I thought there was an urgent need to do something about it other than just playing badminton once a week (and since I hate jogging). The last time I set foot in Bukit Timah Hill area was probably in Sec 2 with the guides. I remember the challenge we took hours to complete, and how we took some time to understand that the hint "Submit Your Heart" actually meant "Summit Hut". Ahhh how nostalgic. We (KT KH JL) took the slightly harder route today. Frankly I felt it was extremely tiring, especially since I haven't walked on such rocky roads in a long time. However, I certainly enjoyed the perspiration, the adrenaline, and simply just breathing fresh air along the way. I would most definitely love to go there again soon. It was fun!
2. Young Detective Dee - Rise of the Sea Dragon was so exciting I'm going to give it 4 out of 5 stars. Tsui Hark is always one of those directors who never fail to impress me with his just-nice CGs. I think he has this thing for ancient period films and of which, his pieces always retain his style. Like the slow-mo scenes where the weapons are about to hit the good men; the female lead is always beautifully portrayed via different ways, this time, her passion in poetry and how men look at her in awe every time she appears; his story might seem exaggerating sometimes but I always like how he puts everything across realistically, like how the skilful protagonists still get injured during fights. He never forgets to inject humour in the film too. Chen Kun, taking the role of a somewhat comedian this time, is definitely a plus point to the movie! OF COURSE, WE SHOULD NEVER FORGET KIM BUM. How can he be so cute? Seriously, I like this movie.
3. The only reason why today is one of the best Saturdays is that Mum is in rather good mood. After dinner, she went grocery shopping with us and bought me many clothes for work. This hasn't happened in nearly years. It is not just those clothes that make my Saturday a good one, but because she laughed a lot today. Right now, I'm going down to watch DVD with her before she turns in to bed.
I really cherish a Saturday like this.
